You see the beautiful dazzling ring. You want to get for her. Its perfect. You go into the jeweller and ask for the price. It fits your budget!
Everything is going perfectly until you realise. You do not know her ring size!
And this is what many of our groom-to-bes is facing and asking!
“So how can I get her ring size without her suspecting anything?”
Here are some of the tips that you, the groom-to-be, can use
1) Get her close friends to help out. You can either go together with them to the mall to try out different costume rings, or get her best guy friend to ask for her opinion on the engagement ring that he is going to buy for his girlfriend. They can thus help you to look out for the ring size that fits her when she wears the different rings for fun, or unknowingly reveal her ring size!
2) Try to “steal” her costume ring that she wears often. This definitely fits her!
3) Ask her mother or sisters to find out. They are her closest friends and they may even know her ring size without asking her! However, there may be a case where they are actually the ones who slip the mouth and accidentally tell her about your intention. So be careful! 🙂
4) Use your little finger as a gauge! If not, the average ring size of a petite Asian woman is about size 5-6.
Just to note: If you want to roughly estimate the size, its always good to size up because its easier to size down afterwards. Just note that if you are looking at thin bands and rings that are covered in gems, it might not be able to resize them. Also, if you are looking at a thick band, the ring will have to be larger than her normal rings. Most importantly, do check with the ring maker if the ring settings that you like can be resized before making the order 🙂
